- Always try and keep your deck to exactly 60 cards.
(Exception; when you want to kill your opponent by deck death)
- Card draw is important, the more cards you draw a turn, the better your chance of getting the cards you need to stay alive
and kill your opponent.
- Remember that your entire deck cannot be high costing spells, you need something to keep you alive until you get what
you need out. If you always die turn 4 because you don't have any blockers or spells like holy day, your deck isn't very good.
-
Keep in mind what your deck will be weak against, and try to plan ahead.
Why or How to use the tips to your benefit:
- The reason you want your deck to stay 60 cards is because 60 cards is the minimum deck size for tournament style decks,
which is what most people will play. If your deck is as small as possible, then you have a better chance of picking up what
you need.
- Card Suggestions: Serum Visions, Well of Knowledge, Plunge Into
Darkness, Skullclamp, Night's Whisper, Fecundity, Recycle, etc.
- Staying Alive until you get what you need is definately important. Some ways you can do this would be gaining life, and
stopping people from attacking you.
Card Suggestions for Avoiding Damage: Crawlspace, Sundroplet,
Wrath of God, Holy Day, Master Decoy, Nomad Decoy, Fog, Moment's Peace,
Dark Banishing, Terror, Pyroclasm, Boomerang, AEther Spellbomb,
Counterspell, etc...
- A good example would be, let's say you have a Spikeshot Goblin, and some equipment to pump him up. Since you are playin
red, there isn't a lot you can do if someone kills him, so you need to keep in mind, that you need a second way to kill your
opponents, and that you can't reply on the Spikeshot Goblin alone.
